Excalibur System’s Px family of MIL-STD 1553 boards and modules simulate Bus Controller, Remote Terminal and Bus Monitor operation. The PxS operates as a single RT and passes all RT validation tests for message formats. The Px modules support multiple RT (Remote Terminal) operation as well as error injection capability. RT mode supports double and multibuffering to ensure data integrity and to provide additional time to the application to onload and offload data without taxing the host system.

As a Bus Controller, the Px modules allows you to define Bus Lists which will then be transmitted according to the requested timing by the module so that your application need concern itself only with updating data and not with satisfying the timing requirements of the bus. Error injection capabilities in BC mode enable exhaustive testing of Remote Terminals and simplify the integration and debugging of entire systems.

Our Bus Monitor provides precise timetags with each message. Many of the modules can be attached to external Irig signals providing a timetag with a time of day format precise to the nearest microsecond.

Special features such as SRQ processing and asynchronous message transmission in Bus Controller mode; mode code handling in RT mode and message filtering in Bus Monitor mode make these modules flexible and powerful.

The same API can be used for the entire Px family including the USB/Ethernet controlled UNET, VPX, miniPCIe and cPCI, PCI and PCIe. The API is designed for ease of use and is accompanied by many demo programs to help you jump start your application.

Systems that support Direct Memory Access such as PCIe systems will automatically make use of it without user involvement.

An array of accessories are available to complement our boards such as cables, bus couplers, terminators, bus splitters and extenders to help you outfit your lab and provide the most up to date and efficient environment to get your project working.
